The Full Story

I raised my family in Kazakhstan – an emerging market and developing country that claimed its independence in 1991 after the Soviet Union broke apart. My two children grew up (they are what’s called Third Culture Kids or TCKs) speaking Russian and found their home among the Zhailyskiy Alatau mountain range.

Building cross cultural friendships and raising a family while living overseas has changed me. I moved to a foreign country with a baby and toddler and lived there for 14 years while travelling to many other places. I have learned another language, lived and worked and volunteered on many projects in that language, and raised my children in a culture not my own.

Now we’ve brought these TCKs back to live in their “home” or passport country because work and vocational calling have directed my husband and I to relocate. Going from expatriate to repatriate gives us all new eyes – offering what we’ve learned strengthens bonds between compatriots and expands the world we live in just a bit.

I am an avid reader, who does freelance copy writing and editing, while working on my own projects. I'm also passionate about connecting with people and working in my indoor and outdoor gardens. I'm called to give words to the faith that gives me hope beyond the ordinary lives we live.
